Coppi
Exclusively native varieties for this large winery of the Marquisate founded in the 1970s by Antonio Coppi and run today by Lisia, Miriam and Doni. Though the key player in their production is primitivo (grown in their vineyards situated between Turi and Gioia del Colle), there is no lack of other important grapes from this territory such as aleatico, negroamaro, malvasia and verdeca. The wines submitted exhibit a modern style, with remarkably close focused aromas and the desire to best express the territory and variety of origin.
Enzo Boglietti
In just over 30 years, Boglietti has become a cornerstone in La Morra. Their evolution is not only detectable in the numbers but, above all, in their approach to winemaking. The desire to improve and the pursuit of elegance demonstrates the foresight and skill of these two brothers. Indeed, Enzo and Gianni do their utmost to bring the personality of their vineyards into the glass, a philosophy that's led them to gradually reduce the amount of wood. The elegance of their wines has benefited greatly.
Tenuta di Sesta
Brothers Felice and Giovanni Ciacci bought Tenuta di Sesta (named after the nearby church of Santa Maria in Sexta) from the noble Tolomei family in 1850. Giuseppe Ciacci, father of Giovanni (the current owner), bottled the first Brunello in 1966. Today the winery is managed by Francesca and Andrea, Giovanni's children who, in the wake of family tradition, produce Brunellos of great elegance. Theirs are ageworthy wines absolutely consistent with the pedoclimatic characteristics of Sesta, here on the southern side of Montalcino.
Valdo
Among the wineries that most contributed to Prosecco's current success, much credit goes to the Bolla family's Valdo Spumanti, a producer that, even without a large private estate at its disposal in the territory's historic heart, has had success thanks to a close-knit network of growers. Gianfranco Zanon is at the helm, leading a highly worthy technical staff that's steadfast in its commitment to both their more popular wines and their premium lines as well.
Velenosi Vini
Inspired to create a harmony between taste and color, the Velenosi Winery was born in 1984. Ercole and Angela Velenosi, with Paolo Garbini since 2005, combining the artisan tradition with modern technologies, have reinterpreted the winemaking processes with creativity. Over 35 years of experience in the sector and strong passion have allowed us to create this reality where, through the use of cutting-edge equipment, exceptional wine is produced. Since the beginning, the winery has achieved great success with journalistic criticism published in the most renowned national and international newspapers such as: Wine Spectator, Robert Parker, Gambero Rosso, Luca Maroni, A.I.S. and many others.
